No data protection officer has been appointed, as the statutory requirements for this do not apply.
2. General information on data processing
We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services, or where you have given your consent. The legal bases are the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
Personal data is any data that can be related to you personally. Use of this website is generally possible without providing personal data.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by an external service provider (host).
When the website is accessed, the host automatically collects information in so-called server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of the request
- Name and URL of the file accessed
- Volume of data transferred and notification of successful retrieval
- Browser type and version used
- Operating system
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in technically error-free operation, the security of our systems and the prevention of attacks. This data is not merged with other data sources.
The host deletes the log files automatically as soon as they are no longer needed for the secure operation of the website. Where storage is necessary to investigate a specific security incident, the data concerned will be retained until the matter has been conclusively resolved.
4. Cookies and consent
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use technically necessary cookies on the basis of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG without your consent. They are required for the website to function, for example to store your setting in the consent banner. The legal basis for the subsequent processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
All other cookies and services are used exclusively with your express consent (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). These services are not loaded before you have given consent.
In this context, your consent decision, the time it was given, your truncated IP address and information about your browser and device are stored in order to demonstrate consent (Art. 7 (1) GDPR). The storage period is 12 months.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. You can also disable or delete cookies in your browser. This may limit the functionality of this website.
5. Contact data
We use HubSpot, a service of HubSpot Ireland Limited, 1 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland (parent company: HubSpot, Inc., 2 Canal Park, Cambridge, MA 02141, USA), to manage contacts, process enquiries and distribute our newsletter. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with HubSpot. HubSpot, Inc. may also process data in the USA. This is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), under which HubSpot, Inc. is certified; in addition, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR) from this agreement apply.
Contact form. If you write to us via the form, we process the data you enter: name, e-mail address, organization, telephone number, details of the event (date, place, format, language, audience) and your message. The form sends your details to us by e-mail; we do not store them on the server of this website. Contacts with whom we stay in touch are transferred to HubSpot.
E-mail and telephone. If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process the information you provide, including your contact details.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your e-mail address and your name. Registration uses the double opt-in procedure: after signing up, you receive a confirmation e-mail; we only add you to the mailing list after you click the link it contains. We store confirmed registrations on the server of this website and transfer them to HubSpot for sending. We store the time of registration and confirmation as well as the IP address used, in order to demonstrate consent. Where you have given your consent, we additionally record whether and when you opened an e-mail and which links you clicked, in order to tailor the newsletter to our recipients’ interests. The briefing is also published as a newsletter on LinkedIn. If you subscribe there, LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland) processes your data under LinkedIn’s privacy policy.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every e-mail. Following unsubscription, we delete your data from the mailing list; records evidencing consent are retained until the expiry of any applicable limitation periods.
Webinar registration. If you register for a webinar via a form on this website, we process your name, your e-mail address, your company if you provide it, the time of registration and the IP address used. We use this data to confirm your registration, to send you the date and the access link, to inform you about changes and to run the webinar. The registration is stored on the server of this website, sent to us by e-mail and stored as a contact in HubSpot (see above). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as the processing is necessary to run the webinar you requested. You will only receive further information about our offers if you have given separate consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR); you may withdraw this consent at any time.
We embed HubSpot forms and/or the HubSpot tracking code on this website. This sets cookies and transmits your IP address and usage behavior to HubSpot. This occurs exclusively with your express consent (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). No HubSpot content is loaded before you have given consent.
We delete this data as soon as the purpose no longer applies. Correspondence relevant under commercial or tax law is retained in accordance with the statutory retention periods of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the German Fiscal Code (AO) (six, eight or ten years, depending on the type of document); processing is limited in this respect to fulfilling these obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR). 10. Right to object
Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to such processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 (1) GDPR).
If your data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you may object at any time without giving reasons. Your data will then no longer be used for these purposes (Art. 21 (2) and (3) GDPR).
Please send your objection informally to the contact details given in section 1.
11. Right to lodge a complaint
Without prejudice to any other legal remedies, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:

We will update this privacy policy whenever the legal situation or the services we use change. The version published here at any given time applies.
